HG Construction is proud to support the Department for Education’s ‘Built to Inspire’ campaign, providing hoarding space at our Manchester site, for a striking new mural celebrating the nation’s favourite buildings and the people shaping the future of construction.
The mural is part of a wider initiative delivered through the Teach in Further Education and Skills for Life campaigns, aimed at tackling the UK’s growing construction skills gap and inspiring the next generation to consider careers in the sector.
Curated by community arts organisations Wood Street Walls and Withington Walls, the murals appear near construction sites and colleges across England – including at HG’s Manchester site. They celebrate iconic buildings, local construction heroes, and the vital role that education and industry play in shaping the country’s future.
With more than 35,000 construction vacancies nationwide and over half unfilled due to a shortage of qualified workers, the campaign encourages:
– Young people and career changers to explore construction careers
– Skilled tradespeople to consider teaching in further education
– Employers to invest in training and future talent
We’re pleased to play our part by giving the campaign a visible platform in the heart of Manchester and helping shine a light on the opportunities the construction sector offers.
