Our decades in the industry have shown that people and relationships make the difference between good and great project delivery.
At HG Construction, we have established a culture driven by simple principles: a desire to do things differently, agile decision making, a flat structure with accessible directors, and empowering our people. Our culture does not only benefit our people, but also leads directly to better results for our partners.
We work hard to never lose sight of what we are doing, operating as one team with a mindset to succeed and build strong trustworthy relationships bound by friendship and personal involvement across the business.
CREATING VALUE THROUGH PEOPLE
As an Investor in People company, we promote equality, fairness and opportunity to all across our business. With a major emphasis on learning and development, we support the full spectrum of career and progression routes, from site-based trainees to resident liaison and senior management CPD. A two-way process, HG staff are invested in their futures and engaged on the journey with support each and every step of the way.
TRAINING AND DEVELOPMENT
We take pride in our teams. Through extensive training and investment, we give our people the confidence and ability to realise their potential and deliver the best outcomes for our partners. We place a strong emphasis on Continuous Professional Development, supporting self-development and exposing staff to a breadth of experience across sectors and projects. We have apprentice and graduate schemes and Day Release programmes, enabling growth and development of new talent under the guidance and mentorship of our long-standing construction professionals.
WELFARE AND WELLBEING
Protecting the physical and mental wellbeing of our people is a core principle of our culture, because we understand that people perform at their best when they feel at their best. We have signed up to the ‘Mates in Mind’ programme to help raise awareness about the importance of wellbeing in the workplace, to reduce any stigma around poor mental health, and to provide our people with clear guidance should they ever need it.
