Quality, Design and Compliance

The principles of the BSRIA Soft Landings Framework 2018 are a key driver for design and quality management on all HG schemes. Employing BIM ensures efficient and sustainable design and delivery to exceptional standards, with our schemes designed compliantly with safety, maintenance, and future occupants in mind.

Driving soft landings and zero defects from the outset, each HG scheme is delivered to our ISO Integrated Management System, ensuring quality and customer service excellence, from project inception through to post completion aftercare and review. We collaborate with the design team, client and supply chain from an early stage, adopting an integrated approach which leads to successful project outcomes.

Building Safety Act

We are currently engaged on several schemes under the Building Safety Act (2022) and have established robust systems and procedures for ensuring full compliance, led by our in-house BSA Champion.

Our investment into digital technologies is enabling us to deliver quality at every stage of the build process, maintain exceptional health and safety standards, and drive efficiencies across our operations.

Examples of the digital tools we employ include: HG Vision - a live tracking platform providing real-time visibility and precision planning across our UK-wide schemes, Site Assist – a digital lifting permit system to maximise site safety, and Clixifix – an easy-to-use portal enabling efficient reporting and real-time updates on Aftercare progress.

HG OFFSITE SOLUTIONS

Our innovative offsite manufacturing arm, HG Offsite Solutions, serves our UK-wide portfolio of residential, student accommodation and hotel clients, providing high quality bathroom pods and utility cupboards.

Our pods are precision engineered in a controlled factory environment, involving the client at the design stage to ensure the products meet exacting standards. Quality control is ensured at every step – from content and design, throughout production through to careful installation – ultimately delivering an exceptionally high standard of product.

Employing offsite fabrication also eliminates waste, secures environmental benefits, and removes supply chain risk and uncertainty.

HG M&E

HG M&E has a 25 strong team of professionals who work collaboratively with our design and build team and client to ensure a seamless, one-stop efficient solution. We currently provide mechanical and electrical services on approximately 50% of our schemes.

By managing these critical systems internally, we ensure that all installations meet the highest standards of performance, sustainability and reliability. This not only enhances the overall functionality of the building but also delivers long-term operational efficiency and reduced maintenance costs for the building’s end user.

CRANES

Pivotal to the speed and flow of the build, our fleet of 43 cranes enables rapid mobilisation and programme control. Our fleet includes 5 industry-leading Moritsch tower cranes, ideal for constrained inner-city sites.

By owning and operating our own cranes, we avoid dependency on third-party providers, reducing delays and ensuring we can respond swiftly to the dynamic needs of each of our schemes. This autonomy translates to greater agility and efficiency, allowing us to keep projects on track.

PILING AND CONCRETE FRAMES

Our piling and concrete frame capabilities enable us to lay the foundations for success from the ground up. With increased control over these early stages of construction, we can mitigate risks and ensure a smoother and more predictable build programme.

Our specialist design and buildability expertise coupled with swift mobilisation enables us to meet the most challenging timescales and deliver a complete build approach for our clients.

HG DRYLINING

We provide direct internal wall and ceiling cladding solutions on our schemes, mitigating third party trade reliance and risk. Our highly experienced drylining team provide tailored solutions that deliver on design requirements whilst ensuring optimum quality and value.
