Castle Lane in Westminster is a unique affordable housing scheme recently delivered by HG Construction for Landsec.  The completed affordable homes will be managed by Notting Hill Genesis.

This sensitively designed development involved the refurbishment, alteration, and extension of four historic buildings at 2-4 Castle Lane, creating 88 new homes with one, two and three-bedroom layouts. The project also includes the transformation of 45 Palace Street, formerly the Castle Lane Working Men’s Club, into a single residential dwelling.

Key enhancements included new balconies, cycle and refuse stores, a rear lift and staircase to the North Building, and carefully considered landscaping, including a children’s play area and improved cycle parking.

A standout feature of this scheme is the restoration of the Victorian façades, which ensures the development remains true to the architectural character of the area while delivering high-quality, affordable homes in the heart of Westminster.
