Water Lane, Leeds

Status: CURRENT
Category: Residential
Value: £69M
Client: McLaren Living

HG’s latest development in Leeds city centre for McLaren Living is located in the South Bank regeneration area, a rapidly emerging residential and mixed-use quarter. Constructed on a former car park site, the BeckYard build-to-rent scheme will deliver 375 new homes comprising a mix of apartments.

The development includes 30,000 sqft of external amenity space in parallel to 7,000 sqft of internal space. Facilities will include resident lounges, shared workspaces, a gym, and events areas.

The multi-block scheme will be finished with a range of roof gardens located on the first, ninth, and 14th floors.

The scope further includes 226 resident cycle spaces, provision for 38 visitor bikes, and 46 car parking spaces with electric charging alongside high-quality public realm, landscaping, and gardens.

A challenging scheme in the Holbeck neighbourhood of Leeds, the constrained site sits adjacent to busy railway lines, necessitating ongoing engagement and coordination with Network Rail.
