The Biscuit Factory Block J is HG’s latest contract for long-standing client Workspace. Forming part of the historic Peek Frean factory redevelopment, the scheme will deliver 60-84 modern commercial office spaces, café, and facilities sympathetic to the original factory design.

The scope comprises partial demolition, structural alterations, construction of a new six-storey steel frame extension, and fit out of the build and existing basement. The original façade will be part-retained.

Early works packages include demolition of the existing ground floor and basement and enabling works, comprising major service diversions for gas, water, and electric feeds for the entire co-working estate.

Working adjacent to other contractors on the wider masterplan scheme in addition to neighbouring occupied offices, the scheme is being delivered sensitively with regular engagement to minimise disruption and maximise safety and efficiency for all parties.
