Phase 4 of long-standing client Danehurst’s student development in Surrey was successfully completed to programme and budget. Located close to the Royal Holloway University campus, this recent phase followed on from HG Construction’s delivery of nearby Phases 1,2 and 3. The collective development offers high quality accommodation and modern shared facilities to the university’s students.

The scheme, called ‘The Garage’, involved the design and construction of five buildings providing accommodation in cluster flats and studios for 166 students, shared kitchen and living space, a gym, study room and communal room (The Repair Shop), in addition to a basement, car parking, cycle bays and external landscaping.

Construction was brick and block with pre-cast concrete floors, roof trusses and bathroom pods. Pre-cast concrete panels and stone surrounds complemented the brick façade.
