HG’s design and build scheme on behalf of client RE Capital, will deliver a new eight storey, 153 room hotel in Clerkenwell alongside an attached affordable housing block. In parallel, the team are carrying out sensitive refurbishment works and a 2-storey vertical extension to the adjacent Victorian Ragged School building, to create 18,700sqft of Grade A office space.

The hotel has been pre-let to the Ruby Group under their ‘Ruby Stella’ branding.  With a design focus on sustainability, wellness and connectivity, the completed facility will offer affordable luxury to its guests. Structurally the build is being carried out traditionally with a concrete frame and GRC cladding.

The overall scheme design complements both the Ragged School’s historic and distinctive crenelated tower and Georgian terraced housing that once lined Eyre Street Hill on the eastern edge of the site.
