COVID-19 – UPDATE

As the unprecedented situation continues to evolve, we would like to highlight some of the steps that we have initiated here at HG Construction to enable our sites to continue operating.

We are following the latest Government advice and constantly reviewing our business continuity plan to ensure that our team are fully prepared for every eventuality.

We have temporarily closed our Farringdon Office. Our HQ in Hitchin is open & running with a limited staff force. Our sites are operating, unless due to Government guidance, we are instructed otherwise.

OUR SUPPLY CHAIN

We are working closely with our supply chain partners, evaluating the impact of restrictive measures as the Government announce them – & will continue to do so to keep any potential disruption to an absolute minimum. Because of the rapid nature of the spread of COVID-19, this will be kept under constant review & rest assured, we are as prepared as we possibly can be.

PROTECTING OUR COLLEAGUES & CUSTOMERS

We have issued guidance documents to all sites based on the Construction Leadership Council’s “Site Operating Procedures” & have instigated an extensive range of measures to protect both our workforce & customers.

These measures included; regular advice on good hygiene practices to our workforce, the provision of Non-Touch Thermometers to check for fevers & access to hand sanitiser throughout the workplace. Our cleaning regimes have also been enhanced, ensuring that all surfaces, door handles, handrails & general equipment are regularly cleaned. These measures are all co-ordinated via instructional signage throughout the workplace to remind everybody of the responsibility to social distance where possible.

We have requested that all sub-contractors amend & re-issue their safes systems of work to reflect the required measures to mitigate the spread of COVID-19.

We have also instructed all personnel to work from home whenever it is possible. Hitchin & Farringdon based staff are now all working remotely with checks carried out on our systems & processes to ensure that the business is able to function as normal.

Meetings, where possible, are being held on video conference platforms to minimise the risk to both our own staff & our customers.

HG Construction is reviewing practices on a daily basis to allow us to continue to support our customers & deliver the quality that we are renowned for, whilst at the same time doing it in a very safe & protective environment.
