At HG Construction we understand how important it is to inspire and encourage the next generation of construction workers, and we were happy to take part in a special day at Southwark Construction Skills Centre dedicated to helping female students find out more about the sector.

Year 10 pupils from St Martin in the Fields High School for Girls, Westminster, visited the Skills Centre to discover more about working in the construction industry. Run in collaboration with Construction Youth Trust, this type of event is a great way to communicate the huge range of roles available, all of which require a wide variety of skillsets.

We were delighted to attend the event and be interviewed by the pupils, who were very keen to hear more about our roles, the training involved and opportunities for career progression.  We hope some of the pupils will now be inspired to take up a career in construction!
