HG Construction is proud to support the mental health charity Mates in Mind, the UK construction industry’s recognised framework to raise awareness and address the stigma of poor mental health and improve positive mental wellbeing.

A worrying fact is suicide is the leading cause of death for men under 50 and low-skilled male construction workers are at greatest risk, with a suicide rate 3.7 times above the national average.* Right now, one in six workers in the UK is experiencing depression, anxiety or stress.

By working with Mates in Mind, we hope to raise awareness of the issues by breaking the silence and getting the conversations going. Our aim is to help our teams recognise the signs, know they are not alone, and to understand how, when and where to get support if they ever need it.
