It is inspiring to see so many people coming together to help people displaced from Ukraine in whatever way they can.
A Hertfordshire-based pub landlord with connections to Romania started to collect essential supplies for those in need a few weeks ago and has been overwhelmed by the response, with one van already enroute to Romania. Â Johnson Matthey are generously covering the transport costs for the trip.
Along with HG Construction CEO Chris Benham’s associate Jonathan Walters, we have now made a company donation to cover catering supplies for a small hotel in Braila, Romania which is currently accommodating 20 Ukrainian women with young children. The pub landlord, a taxi driver from Royston and a Thames Water Engineer have kindly offered to make the 70 hr round trip to drive to Romania and back to deliver these supplies.
The generosity and kindness of the people involved is heart-warming and we wish the drivers the best of luck on their journey.
