Moulsecoomb Primary School in Brighton has received a playground upgrade and a significant donation of IT equipment thanks to a partnership between McLaren Property and HG Construction.

HG Construction is currently working on a student housing led mixed-use scheme on behalf of McLaren Property on Moulsecoomb Way in Brighton. As part of our community engagement programme, we have worked closely with local schools and other stakeholders to ensure that the local community benefits throughout the construction phase of the scheme and beyond.

Conor Rice, Managing Director, HG Construction, explained: “As a responsible contractor we prioritise positive engagement with the local community, with our community liaison manager taking time to visit local schools and community groups to explore ways in which we can support them throughout the lifetime of the project.

“Following a meeting with Moulsecoomb Primary School, we identified a number of areas where we could offer vital support to the school along with our client McLaren Property. The existing boundary wall in the playground was in a bad state of repair, so we replaced this with a curved retaining wall which has significantly improved the safety of the playground whilst offering the ideal place for children to sit during their breaks. Together we also donated 10 laptops, 10 chromebooks and 20 headphones to the school. We are delighted to have been in a position to positively contribute to the school and we wish them all the best with their new equipment.”
