Southworks has been awarded a BREEAM ‘Outstanding’ certificate, propelling the development into the top 1% of sustainable office buildings in the UK.

The ‘Outstanding’ Certificate highlights how the project team fully embraced sustainability and ESG criteria by embedding it into the earliest concept design stage and continuing to push it as a key driver throughout the detailed design and construction stages.

Southworks’ demand driven technology acts on real time data to save energy. This leads to much greater energy efficiency and dramatically decreases the operational carbon of the building.

Delivered by HG Construction for our client Middlecap, Southworks was the first building in the UK to achieve the Platinum Smart Building Certification, only one of two buildings to receive this accolade worldwide. It was also named the world’s smartest building at the 2021 Futureproof Awards (People’s Choice category), recognised for its use of data to create the best possible user environment.
