Topping Out The Store House Leeds

6th September 2024

It was a pleasure to gather with the project team and representatives of Leeds City Council to officially mark the topping out of ‘The Store House’ in Leeds, a large-scale PBSA scheme we are currently delivering on behalf of Manner.

The Briggate scheme comprises 369 en-suite bed spaces made up of 238 3-8 bed clusters and 131 studios. There will also be around 3,000sqm of flexible-use retail floorspace at ground and basement levels, as well as 527sqm of thoughtfully designed and highly specified amenity spaces. This scheme takes the place of the former House of Fraser store and will make a significant contribution to the thriving retail and entertainment district of Briggate.

James Lewis, Leader of Leeds City Council, and Ian Williams-Slaven, Head of Development at Manner, addressed guests attending the topping out ceremony, highlighting the positive impact the new scheme will have on the surrounding area. The scheme is targeting BREEAM Excellent and is closely aligned to both Leeds City Council’s and the government’s Net Zero Carbon targets, contributing towards a more sustainable and rejuvenated urban centre.

We are proud of our Leeds team for the excellent progress made on the scheme to date and look forward to sharing more updates along the construction journey. The Store House will be available for occupancy from the 2025-26 academic year onwards.
