HG Construction is pleased to be working on a new scheme within the Old Kent Road Opportunity Area for Metropolitan Thames Valley. This key development will comprise two residential towers of 21 and 13 storeys, providing 170 new homes with 36% affordable housing. It will also include approximately 16,900 sqft of retail space on the ground floor, part of which will rehouse the existing Aldi store into a high-quality modernised unit.
The design incorporates concrete frames with a brick façade and off-site manufactured bathroom pods and utility cupboards. Externally, a large children’s play area is being created.
This scheme is aiming to achieve BREEAM Excellent and with electric vehicle charging points, it is targeted to achieve a 37% greater reduction in CO² emissions than current Building Regulations requirements.
